      This is typical Seymour Simon kind of wonderful. It is packed with well-organized information that is clearly explained and accompanied by interesting photographs. He is my "go to" starting point for third grade researchers.

      Only a true rock and mineral enthusiast would read this for pleasure. However, it would be perfect on a white board tray with other nonfiction books for students how have idle time. Great pictures, as always in Simon books.
