This "MacAllister's Hope" (A Kilmartin Glen novella) by Laurin Wittig was absolutely wonderful and for those of you like me who have read Laurin's book The Devil of Kilmartin, (A Kilmartin Glen novel) as this is a must read! As In this is the story of orphan wee Fia who I first me in Laurin's debut "The Devil of Kilmartin" where the Devil and Elena took under their wing and made wee Fia the daughter of their hearts. Fia is all grown up now and is brought to The MacAlister Clan to help heal the c [...]

What a wonderful story! The story, the characters, the description of the highlands and that time period was just brilliant. I loved the story of Elaine and Symon in the devil of kilmartin and for a glimpse of their lives in this short story was great. Fia and Kieron are a wonderful couple and their story though short was really sweet with just alittle bit of heat. Annis was a straight up spoiled bit** I would have loved more on her punishment! Great read highly recommend, you don't have to read [...]

    3. Barbara says:

Fia is an orphan and taken in my a family of healers. Kieron Macalister has come to ask for Elena's help in healing their clan chief. She can't travel as she is expecting wee bairns soon. She sends Fia in her place. Fia uses her talents as an herbalist and with the help of Kieran's stone, she heals their chief. While in their village, they fall in love but have a secret that Annis is willing to blackmail Fia with. Annis's plot is foiled and she gets her rewards while Fia and Kieron find love.

    4. Gaele says:

A “follow-up” character exploration story, MacAlister’s Hope is the story of Fia MacLachlan, first met in The Devil of Kilmartin. I’ve yet to read that particular title, and have purchased it to read at the first free opportunity. Fia was an orphan child, yet skilled with healing and herbs. Taken in and raised with love and kindness, Fia has made a life for herself, and has grown and thrived in her role as healer. But, the early years took a toll: never fully confident in her skills, or [...]

    5. Bernadette Long says:

This charming story is a follow up to The Devil of Kilmartin and tells the story of "little" Fia MacLachlan, now nineteen years old and skilled in healing with herbs. Kieron MacAlister well remembers meeting Fia years ago and heeding the advice that she gave him as he tried to avoid the bullying attentions of other boys. He has learned to use his wits instead of his fists and his skills are very useful to his clan. They meet again as the MacAlisters arrive asking for Elena, a healer to come and [...]

Fia's storyI was very happy to see that Fia was given her own story. Even though this is a novella, it was a complete story. I enjoyed this book very much! Thank you, Ms. Wittig!!! I'll be keeping this one to re-read in the future.
