      At a 116 pages, this was a perfect little novella to read at 2 a.m. The main character, Hunter Black, is snarky and more than willing to admit that he was a bit naive when things got started for him. He comes off as a very believable hero in training. Must admit, though, I spent a good portion of my time going “Oh, c’mon! Seriously?!       Eric Guindon's Confessions of a Monster Hunter 1 features a mordacious protagonist with a strong personality. It does come with a couple of strong language expressions and it's written for adults, so you might not want the younglings to read it. For the rest of us, though, it's a fun read and the protagonist's personality and snarky attitude cheers you up.
