This book is one of a kind! Rasheedah Prioleau really breathed life into the paranormal romance genre. Not that it is strictly a paranormal romance, because there are so many layers to this story. It is part paranormal, part romance, and part murder mystery. Specter Georgia is a high class American ghost town literally. The town peacefully, (for the most part), coexists with spirits who work and play alongside live people. When several women turn up dead, the town suspects there is a ghostly ser [...]

American Specter is a book with a lot of potential, but is missing the last polish to make it shine. The premise is an interesting one: Imagine that there is a town where the spirits of the deceased and recently-dead are commonplace. Where they live and work along side your everyday, average human. Now imagine that, in this town, there is a series of murders and some of the clues hint that the murderer might be one of those very specters. What sort of motive would drive a ghost to kill someone el [...]

Review by Harmony KentOn behalf of The Review BoardAmerican SpecterBY RASHEEDAH PRIOLEAUMurder Mystery, FictionAudra Wheeler, an FBI agent with a traumatic personal history, is sent to the small American town of Specter to investigate the latest in a series of murders which span more than a decade. This tiny town also happens to be the home of ‘Specters’ – the ghosts of the deceased who haven’t passed on. They live and work alongside living humans, and can manifest or remain invisible at [...]

Reading American Specter was one of the most exciting journey ever! It wasn't just about paranormal, American Specter was made of several other layers. You love paranormal? Romance? Mystery? Cool heroine and hot male protagonist? It is all there. American Specter is about the FBI Agent Audra Wheeler. Several years ago, her adoptive older sister was mysteriously attacked by an invisible criminal and is in coma since then, and now she's determined to help the others by solving cases. Not just that [...]

Before I give my review, I must state that I received a copy of this book via Giveaways. Thanks to all who made that possible; it is always a privilege to review an author's work. The novel had a very interesting premise; the dead are back among us, they can speak to us, manifest themselves, hold jobs, and even (perhaps) become serial killers? That is what FBI Agent Audra Wheeler has been tasked to investigate in the sleepy town of Specter, Georgia. She is reunited with a former co-worker and fla [...]

I received this book in exchange for a honest review .At first, the book did not impress me all that much, but then it surprised me very positively. For some reason, the writing didn't feel very smooth and the plot seemed very transparent, but I was sorely mistaken. But if you feel like me and the book don't seem very convincing at first, don't stop reading. It really improves towards the end.So after all, I really liked this book and it was almost perfect. There were some things that felt like [...]

I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review and here it is. American Specter was a fun read with romance, mystery, and a surprise at the end that I never saw coming. We follow FBI Agent Audra Wheeler as she is assigned to a case with a paranormal bent - and an unmistakable similarity to the attempted murder of her sister 13 years prior to the story's beginning. Women are being murdered; women who look an awful lot like her sister, who lies in a coma from an attempt on her life [...]

It had layered plot twists that kept me engaged. An enjoyable read like unravelling a scarf before knitting it back together, better. The specters were not so finely characterized more like reflections rather than real people, probably intentionally so.
