This is a book from my childhood, one of the categories in the reading challenge 2015 I've taken on. I read it a bajillion times when I was little, to the point that the book binding is now coming apart. I saw it lying in my parents' book cabinet & decided to find out why exactly this book attracted me as a child.Basically the main characters--a lion, beaver, otter and golden retriever--go a bunch of quests to find four keys that will unlock the gate to the "Treasure Tree", which is special [...]

This is one of the books of my childhood. It's the story of four friends, four different animals (with four different personalities) that embark on a quest to find the Treasure Tree. Along the way they venture through lands filled with candy or blueberry pie , they find themselves in tricky situations where they must use their skills in order to overcome them and learn the power of one universal truth : Friendship.

    3. Emily Schmader says:

This dear book from my childhood was gifted to me on my first Mother's Day. It's a sweet story about four friends representing different personality types. I definitely look forward to reading it to my children and investigating their God-given "bents."

What a wonderful read aloud for parents and their young children! The story of four animal friends seeking 4 keys that will give them access to The Treasure Tree is brightly illustrated and is simple enough for 3-7 year olds to enjoy and will provide ample opportunities for discussion as it teaches the valuable lessons of working together and using the unique gifts that everyone has. The reminder that we all have worth and something valuable to contribute can never be voiced enough. This book in [...]

Cute little starter chapter book about 4 friends' quest to find the treasure tree - a story of how different personalities, when put to the task of working together, can achieve a better outcome than one on their own. In the future, I am sure to find myself analyzing and categorizing friends and acquaintances' personalities on the basis of their Treasure Tree animal. For the record, I'm a beaver. I don't know that I'd go handing these out as birthday presents or anything, but it was an enjoyable [...]

The OverviewThis adorable book, with bright and imaginative pictures, is a kids introduction to understanding the 4 different personality types - Lion, Beaver, Otter, and Retriever. It is a mix of cute picture book and a short chapter book. It can be read as a family or by an individual child. At the end of the book it gives 4 lists of questions to ask each child in order to help them determine their personality type. The ReadabilityIt is not only fun to read, but easy to read. Filled with lots o [...]

I have been leading kids through the four personality types as they relate to animals as outlined in this book, but I'd never actually read the book! It's pretty long for a picture story book, but it's very much worth the read, even if it's done in installments with kids.I love how it outlines the four animal types by showing you how they interact with others and use their strengths to accomplish a goal. Each personality type has negative traits, but they weren't harped on in the book, which is [...]

The Treasure Tree is about a group of four best friends with different personality traits coming together to work towards a common goal (finding the treasure tree). This adventure starts by their friend Owl, giving them a treasure map for their combined birthdays. This book has great colorful illustrations that keep the student's eyes engaged through the whole book. There is also a personality test at the end of the book, so students can find out which character they relate to more. This book wou [...]

This was my absolute favorite book while growing up. It is about different animal friends with distinct personalities all working together to get to the treasure tree. They have to work together and travel through many interesting lands and obstacles in order to arrive at their destination. The age group for this book is for children 5-8 years old. Its genre is children's animal stories. I rated this book five stars because it teaches valuable lessons in an extremely fun and understandable way. [...]

This picture book represents four different personalities with four different animals. Lance, the lion, is the natural-born leader. Chewy, the beaver, is very calculated in his decision-making. He values accuracy and pays close attention to detail. Giggles, the otter, is very fun-loving. Finally, Honey, the golden retriever, is nurturing and tender-hearted.This is a fantastic book that offers children four different personalities they can identify with. It also shows children how people with dif [...]

As an elementary reading teacher, I read a lot of children's books. The Treasure Tree is one of my favorites. It is a sweet book with a message that children really relate to, and a personality quiz in the back to help the children discover which personality type they are. What I love most about this book, though, are the illustrations!! They are phenomenal!!! This book is good for a read-a-loud, and as a beginning of the year activity.

    12. Stacey says:

This was a silly book, but my kids LOVED it. Everynight they looked forward to the next story. I had to hide it. Eli wanted to keep reading and always begged for another. It follows the personality inventory (lion, beaver, otter, and golden retriever) the kids enjoyed seeing themselves in this personalities, and we had no doubt who was who. They found the otter (Caleb) paricularly funny because giggles was a girl.

    13. Hannah Guerra says:

This children's picture book is good for anyone in kindergarten -3rd grade. It follows four friends as they go on an adventure to find the treasure tree. Throughout this journey each friend ends up saving the day using the special skills that only they as an individual possess. It has strong themes of friendship and the importance of everyone being different. This book can be classified as a novel.

    14. Ash Kroger says:

This is my ALL TIME FAVORITE book from my childhood. I remember the day my mom bought it for me and her reading it to me every night or falling asleep with it in my arms waiting for her to get to my room in time to read it to me before I fell asleep. Such a great story about hour 4 completely different personalities work together to find the ultimate treasure, friendship and some chocolate! =)

    15. Peyton says:

I loved this book as a kid. I can't tell you how many times I read it. I'm not sure what prompted me to reread it now, but I'm glad I did. The Treasure Tree has lost none of its charm. Whimsical, fun, thought-provoking, this is a twentieth century Aesop fable with a Christian bent. I can't wait to share it with my own children.

    16. Robyn says:

I got this as a gift in late elementary school. Loved it then, still love it now. It's also a good springboard for Bible study material in youth groups. I like getting to know people in light of these studies & how studying personality differences really bring people together!

    17. S.E. Thomas says:

This is a book that helps children understand different personality types, recognize what kind of personality they are, and learn to get along better with those who are different from they are. It's a great help to teach young people about healthy relationships.

    18. Kristin says:

I read this with the younger ones last weekand they loved it. At the end of the book is a personality checklist and my kids loved that! They quickly identified themselves as an otter and a golden retriever!

    19. Chelcey says:

This is an awesome book that will help your children see their own personality in the characters. My daughter picked hers out by the 3rd chapter and she could tell me who each of her family members personalities were by the end of the book.

    20. Heather Leipart says:

This is a kids book, but it is actually pretty long. I LOVE how personalities are illustrated through animals. The Otter is the playful one, the Lion is the leader type, the Beaver is the worker, and the Golden Retriever is the agreeable, nice one (that would be me!)we LOVE this story.

    21. Becky Goetz says:
