    1. Rich Schmaltz says:

The chapters for wives and husbands and about discipline were 5 stars easily.

    2. Benjamin Glaser says:

I am not sure a better book exists or has been written of this length that deals with the beauty of the Christian home in a more succinct and biblical manner than this work by Jay Adams. I read this book in seminary (at RPTS) and liked it then, but 6 more years of marriage later and re-reading this book it really strikes me how picture perfect this work is for those looking to understand the proper roles of husbands, wives, and children in the Christian faith and how much all of us have to learn [...]

    4. Peter B. says:

I really appreciated this book. It was easy to read (it only took two days to read), and yet had many good, helpful insights.

    5. Bendick Ong says:

Small easy-to-read book suitable for a courting/newly-wed couple to read together, as they strive to build a home that is Christ-centered. It offers practical advice on how we, essentially sinners, can live together as a family. Besides devoting a chapter each on communication as well as roles of a husband, a wife and parents, also appreciate the author's focus on singles as well as Christians who are facing the challenge of living with an unbeliever. The worksheets/inventory checks behind most [...]

    6. Laramie Gildon says:

Excellent book for every member of the family. Whether you're married, plan to get married or want to understand what family should look like. This is a great read and I highly recommend it. Adams walks faithfully through scripture pointing out the purpose of marriage and our duties in the home. I was very convicted by this book and I guarantee you'll enjoy it as it is a great way to glorify God and how we are to honor Him with our lives.

    7. Jennah says:

I didn't care for this book, it was very hard for me to concentrate when reading it. Probably because I always hear what is talked about in this book. Don't get me wrong, it still is a great book for someone who doesn't get to hear a lot about "Christian Living in the Home".

    8. Susan says:

I really like the simple straightforward approach to what a Christian home can look like. Not having been raised in a Christian home, and having been raised in a pretty dysfunctional home, I like the picture this paints of what it can look like to love and respect each other.

    9. Margaret says:

      Nouthetic Counseling.

    10. Michael J says:

I read this as part of a Sunday school book club type deal. I agree with most everything he says. I especially appreciate the section on discipline.

    11. Luke Landry says:

Great Read. Very practical and helpful. The Chapter on Loving leadership is worth reading several times.

A great book on how a christian home should function.

An excellent study of the Christian family.

      Pretty good.

    15. Leigh Ann says:

I read this for a class at church but loved it. It is an easy read but is such a good basic synopsis of what the christian home should look like. This is a book I'd love to give to all newlyweds!!

    16. David says:

A little "dated" but overall a great basics book about marriage from a practical helpful perspective. GOOD solid stuff

Every Christian home should read this

    19. Matthew Farrell says:

He has a lot of valid things. I would recommend this book to people, but I have a bit different perspective on certain things than he does. Then again Im not married, but still. It is a good read.

    20. Camille K. says:

Like the reformed Nanny Jo from the 70s.
